VARIBOX FC 1000 NS4 Extractor Tube Viton
A Dedicated Solution for Low-Flow Chemical Dosing
The VARIBOX FC 1000 NS4 Extractor Tube Viton provides a controlled way to supply chemicals directly from the IBC to an industrial dosing process. Developed for applications that require relatively small and consistent product volumes, the NS4 combines fine dosing with closed chemical transfer.
Rather than opening the VARIBOX to access its contents, the chemical is extracted through the NS4 system at the top of the container. The matching Viton coupler connects the extractor tube directly to your dosing equipment, creating a liquid-tight transfer route from container to process.
With a capacity of approximately 50 litres per hour, NS4 is designed for processes where controlled chemical supply takes priority over rapid product transfer.
Fine Dosing Directly from a 1,000-Litre IBC
Using a large IBC does not necessarily mean that chemicals need to be transferred at a high flow rate.
The NS4 system makes it possible to combine the storage capacity of the VARIBOX FC 1000 with a dispensing solution developed specifically for fine dosing.
Its narrow extraction line controls the product flow, making the system suitable for dosing installations that gradually introduce chemicals into a process.
This allows the VARIBOX FC 1000 to function as the direct supply container for your dosing equipment, reducing the need for intermediate handling between the IBC and the process.
Closed Chemical Transfer from Container to Process
An important advantage of NS4 is that the VARIBOX remains closed during normal dispensing.
Connecting the corresponding NS4 Viton coupler creates a liquid-tight connection. The coupler and extractor tube open together, allowing the product to move into the connected dosing system while helping keep chemicals and fumes contained.
Once the coupler is removed, the NS4 system closes automatically.
This closed operating principle helps reduce unnecessary operator contact with the chemical and limits opportunities for product or vapour to escape during routine dosing operations.
Built-In Return Connection for Dosing Installations
Chemical dosing systems can require a return route in addition to the main extraction connection.
For this reason, the NS4 incorporates a return connection as a standard feature. Extraction and return functionality can therefore be connected through the same NS4 assembly at the top of the VARIBOX.
This makes the system particularly practical for dosing installations where a return line forms part of the process design.
Instead of requiring an additional opening in the container, NS4 provides both connections within one dedicated dispensing solution.
Non-Return Valve Supports Reliable Pump Operation
At the bottom of the NS4 system, an integrated non-return valve limits product flowing back into the VARIBOX when extraction stops.
Keeping chemical in the extraction line can help the connected pump resume operation without having to prime the complete line again.
This is particularly useful in processes where dosing starts and stops repeatedly.
The non-return valve is designed to block return flow but does not provide a guaranteed complete seal. Its function should therefore not be considered equivalent to a shut-off valve.
Viton Version for the Correct Chemical Configuration
This NS4 extractor tube is the Viton configuration for the VARIBOX FC 1000.
The Viton version uses a Hastelloy spring, while the corresponding tube, hose and housing are manufactured from polyethylene and the connections and base from polypropylene. VARIBOX also offers a separate EPDM configuration, which uses different sealing materials and a stainless-steel spring.
Matching the correct components is essential. A Viton NS4 extractor tube should only be connected using the corresponding Viton NS4 coupler. VARIBOX makes identification easier by using a grey jacket on the Viton coupler, while the EPDM version is identified by a red jacket.
The correct configuration should always be selected according to the chemical, concentration, temperature and operating conditions.
Get More Usable Product from the VARIBOX
The NS4 extractor tube extends down to the lowest point of the VARIBOX FC 1000 inner container.
This position allows the dosing system to continue extracting product as the container approaches empty, helping keep residual volumes to a minimum.
Tests performed with water indicate that approximately 0.1 litre remains in the VARIBOX FC after emptying, while approximately 0.05 litre remains in the NS4 extractor tube. Actual results vary according to the chemical and operating conditions.
Low residue means more usable chemical from each fill and less residual product requiring handling after the VARIBOX has been emptied.
Designed Around the VARIBOX Principles
NS4 forms part of the wider VARIBOX approach to Safer, Reusable and Sustainable chemical packaging.
Safer Chemical Dosing
Keeping the VARIBOX closed during dispensing helps separate operators from the chemical being handled. The liquid-tight connection, closed transfer principle and automatic closing mechanism support controlled chemical dosing from connection through to disconnection.
Supporting Long-Term Reuse
The VARIBOX FC is built as reusable industrial packaging. Components within the dispensing system can be inspected and replaced when required, allowing maintenance to focus on individual parts rather than automatically replacing the complete packaging system.
Reducing Product and Packaging Waste
Efficient extraction helps minimise the amount of chemical remaining after use. At the same time, serviceable components support continued use of the VARIBOX over multiple cycles.
Together, these characteristics contribute to more efficient use of both the chemical and its packaging.
Precision Where Your Process Needs It
The VARIBOX FC 1000 NS4 Extractor Tube Viton turns a high-capacity chemical IBC into a controlled supply source for fine dosing applications.
Instead of prioritising fast emptying, NS4 focuses on controlled flow, closed dispensing and practical integration with dosing equipment. Its standard return connection, non-return valve and automatically closing design provide the functionality required for demanding industrial dosing processes.
Connect your VARIBOX FC 1000 directly to your dosing process with the controlled, closed and reliable NS4 Viton system.
