FLUX SAFETEC for VARIBOX
High-performance reusable IBCs require an equally reliable solution for transferring their contents. For applications involving acids, alkalis and other demanding liquids, VARIBOX® IBCs can be combined with the FLUX SAFETEC pump system. Together they provide the basis for closed, controlled transfer without opening the IBC or exposing operators to the product. VARIBOX supplies the safe, reusable container. FLUX selects, supplies and configures the pump system for the medium, required flow rate, viscosity and operating environment. Each company remains responsible for its own product and specialist advice.

About FLUX
FLUX is an international specialist in pump technology for transferring, emptying and dosing liquids from drums, containers and IBCs. Its portfolio includes drum and container pumps, magnetic centrifugal pumps, motors, flow meters and complete pumping systems. FLUX determines the appropriate configuration according to the medium, required flow rate, viscosity and operating environment, and supports customers from technical selection through to service and documentation.

FLUX SAFETEC Closed Transfer from VARIBOX IBCs
SAFETEC is a configurable pumping system for emptying enclosed reusable IBCs and drums. A dry-disconnect coupling connects the VARIBOX to a closed hose and piping system, helping prevent spills, vapours and direct product contact during transfer and container changes. Depending on the application, SAFETEC can combine a self-priming MAGSON magnetic centrifugal pump with dry-run protection, leak monitoring, flow measurement and automated controls.
Key Advantages of FLUX SAFETEC
- Closed product transfer from sealed VARIBOX IBCs
- Dry-disconnect coupling for safer container changes
- Hermetically sealed pump design without a conventional shaft seal
- Optional dry-run protection and automatic empty-container detection
- PP or ETFE versions for application-specific chemical resistance
- Optional flow measurement for controlled dosing and filling
Controlled, Repeatable Dosing
SAFETEC can be configured for more than simply emptying a container. Optional control and measurement equipment enables operators to select a required quantity or empty the complete VARIBOX. A flow meter measures the transferred volume, while dry-run monitoring can detect an empty container and stop the pump automatically. This supports consistent dosing, reduces operator dependency and provides greater control over the transfer process.

When to Consider FLUX SAFETEC
- Transferring acids, alkalis or other aggressive liquids
- Keeping the container closed during emptying and dosing
- Reducing operator contact with spills, vapours and hazardous products
- Applications requiring controlled or repeatable dosing quantities
- Automated systems requiring empty detection or leak monitoring

Proven in Practice: Automated Chemical Dosing at EJOT
At EJOT in Bad Laasphe, five FLUX SAFETEC pump sets dose sulphuric acid, nitric acid and caustic soda from sealed VARIBOX IBCs directly into electroplating baths. The closed system combines dry couplings, hermetically sealed MAGSON pumps, PLC control and non-contact flow measurement for automated, reproducible dosing without direct media contact during normal operation and container changes.
